Comments
Comments: Super day. Today actually felt like Spring unlike yesterday. Ammo was packed until the Gem Pool then was loose powder up until treeline. Snowshoes made my climb up swift and easy. I was fine in them all day though there are very bony sections on the summit of Monroe and in a few places between Monroe and Ike. There were also a few bony sections on Gulfside. It's just easier for me to keep them on for these short sections rather then constantly switch. Micros would have been fine in most places above tree line though the added traction was nice going up Crawford Path to Washington. I was in somewhat of a daze on my way down and followed the tracks in front of me clear off of Jewell and into Spruce Trap City. It was a bit comical. I found my way out unharmed and back to the trail proper. Beware if you are up there tomorrow :). Lots of fresh powder on Jewell below tree line. I was glad to get this hike in before the rain and warmer temps hit later this week.
