Comments
Comments: Old Jackson Rd from Pinkham Notch is packed, wide and fast in boots. Madison Gulf is almost unused and needs snowshoes past Lowes Bald Spot all the way until Osgood Cutoff. There is a spot where people (including me lost their way half-way out Madison Gulf, keep following my snowshoe tracks straight, don;t follow the dead ends up and down the terrain like I did at first. Osgood Cutoff and Osgood trail are fine with light traction. Before the snow, Osgood above treeline was almost bare with rocks and patchy ice, I would have preferred packed snow, the rocks were very hard to walk over with crampons needed for the ice patches. I called it quits at the Daniel Webster Scout trail junction due to fatigue from breaking trail solo, and the oncoming weather.
