Comments
Comments: After almost getting scared off by the forecast, the weather held off and it was a nice day on Cabot with a Meetup group of 10. The route is well packed and solid all the way to the summit. From the cabin to the summit was slightly less consolidated. We wore spikes until just after the Mt. Cabot Trail junction, then switched to snowshoes for the rest of the day. A couple of us wore spikes all day. Signs of a couple of tracks continuing northbound on the KRT from the Cabot summit toward The Horn, but not well broken out. Decent views from the usual viewpoints along the way. Light snow and colder temps moved in while at the cabin (no real wind to speak of), but we were down in time to avoid the incoming snow/sleet/rain. As reported previously, both the summit sign and the stick at the high point are missing, allegedly stolen. :(
