Lost and Found
Lost and Found: nalgene bottle with insulated bag to keep it from freezing found approx. .25mi from trailhead--a runner had just finished when I pulled in (he was first car in lot)--pretty sure it is his; the bag had ripped; the water was still 'warm' when I found the bottle; I placed it next to a tree behind the trail sign at the parking lot

Comments
Comments: beautiful day for some morning hikes; with Winter 48 completed I just wanted to hike for fun and had following requirements: 1) short(er) drive and missing rush hour traffic on way home; 2) some good sledding; 3) some good views-->itinerary of Tecumseh, Welch and Dickey was the result of those

no clouds in the skies at all; I used snowshoes on Tecumseh ascend; on top a few drifts--the runner had 'postholed' through them--not much depth to them; at times half way to my knee; I broke out the trail with the snowshoes; on descend I switched to spikes to sled down :) you can sled from the juncture all the way to the vista point in one swoop--I stopped in between though and chatted with another hiker with dog who was ascending

Welch-Dickey trail was bare booted by most recent person (either earlier this morning or yesterday); I used microspikes which gave very good traction on icy sections; most of the time I hiked on snow though; drifts on top obscured trail at times, but very easy to stay on trail; only person I saw was upon return in parking lot--a local who was about to start the loop with his dog, also using microspikes; views were gorgeous

all 3 objectives fulfilled today--and home in time for some more work to get done; excellent official final winter hiking day
