Not too cold on the way (15-20 degrees) up but definitely windy along the whole trail. Trail is narrowly packed and visible until about a half mile from the top where it has been blown over. The blazes seemed to be covered in snow at this point. Under about a half foot of snow, there IS a packed trail which you can follow using a pole of some sort. The top had sustained 70mph winds. Ice picks and quality crampons are vital. Great hike, but probably a little too windy for comfort. |
