Comments
Comments: The trail has been well tracked out, but with the mild temperatures it was annoyingly soft and sticky. We tried to bareboot the Gale River Road but immediately had to put on snowshoes and keep them on the rest of the way. We were still postholing in snowshoes, which made for a long trip. With 40 degree temperatures at the trailhead we stripped to base layers and stayed that way until we got to the ridge. The summit was windswept and mostly bare rock, with moderate winds, good views, and occasional moments of sun. We butt-sledded down the summit cone; the rest of the trail is at very moderate grades. We could see that some had been skiing down the mountain.

45 down, 3 to go for my winter 48!
