Comments
Comments: I skied out to the Bondcliff trail and little ways up. I don't know if it saved much time after i switched boots and put on snowshoes but it was alot more fun! Trail well packed to "hitch up rock" just below Bondcliff summit. Although there was alot of weekend traffic, it was very windy and nearly all evidence was gone. Bondcliff is mostly windblown. Some drifting on the way to the col. As others said, finding the corridor at tree line is a test of memory and trail finding skills. It was so windy that 3/4 of the way up the exposed section of the trail, I headed NE through the trees and hit the trail higher up. From Bond over to West Bond was just stomping the newly drifted snow atop the well tracked trail. My tracks were mostly gone upon my return. Sking out from about the 5 mile mark was much faster then walking. I proved in my own mind that Lincoln Woods trail is not up hill both ways.
