Comments
Comments: Nice easy hike up to Pierce. It was too blustery for the dog to go across to Eisenhower. But the forecast was much sunnier than anticipated so views from Pierce were great.
Having extra time, i decided to check out the Crawford Cliff via the spur right near the bridge, a few minutes from the parking lot. No one had been past the Gem Pool. It was fun to make real use of the snowshoes. We followed blazes which ended upbruptly at the cliff. Thinking it was all uphill from there, up we went. Maybe i missed a blaze or two and climbed up the wrong part of the cliff because once up, the saplings were pretty dense and there was no clear route. I don't think i was at the top, maybe just the first ledge. Anyway, it was fun and exciting and a low time commitment. Maybe someone else will follow my tracks in and report.
