Comments
Comments: FINALLY I was able to hike these peaks in winter. It's either been too damn cold, or the parking has been sketchy. All trails along this route are now well packed after today's traffic. The spur go Bald Peak is a bit choppy, but it's so short it's not a bother. I wore spikes for the first mile up MKT, then switched to snowshoes for the rest of the hike. Lots of people out including a guy finishing his 4Ks on South Kinsman. With the enormous snow depths up there, there are even more great views along the way. Most of the people I saw came up from the hut, but the MKT was fairly quiet.
