 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking is good on the short section across from the TH. I was first but it was over-flowing upon my return and several cars were parked too far out on the road. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Open water in 3 - but easy step-overs. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A handful of "duck-unders". Probably not a problem when the snow-pack melts. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Wet paws probably unavoidable in one of the crossings. A badly post-holed section in the are of the Scaur Ridge tr. jct. could be an issue but after lots of travel today it probably is less of a problem. |

 | Comments: |
The tracks on the upper part of Pine Bend are not on the correct trail. It cuts out the bend and goes straight up - leveling out just a bit to the East of Scaur Peak. It works - but it is a much steeper climb than the proper trail.
More than a dozen hikers on the trails today and despite there being many bare-booters it should be a good shape now thanks to the snow-shoe folks. |
