Stellar weather. Decided to re-break trail to Eisenhower from Pierce and back. Should be easier to read/walk now. Did same from Pierce to Jackson. Some areas still drop to armpits even with powdertails(!). Barring a lot of wind or snow, should be a good 3-peak traverse for you weekend Winter Whites Warriors ... Note - from Mizpah to Jackson (~1.7m) it is very sketchy in places. After the puncheons (bonus if you find them), ymmv as to best way to get back on trail to Jackson. Also, the branches you're up in a quite a thicket in places. I apologize, I took lots of wrongs ... go straight for the peak. Also, going from Pierce to Eisenhower, up Eisenhower, a herd path breaks right just as you start exposed climb, recommend against it ... go left. Same with Webster Cliff from Pierce to Jackson, ~0.5m before Mizpah ... a split, don't go R, dead end, it heads downhill. Bear left/up. Enjoy the triple low-presi's trek with my compliments ... darn near wiped me out (thank you to Kira at the AMC Lodge for expediting food to a significantly dilapidated me 14miles, and 5 of trail re-breaking ... later ... ). Scotch was good though - still is ... BTW - first few of you through there oughtta take powertails |
