Monorail was very stable. First mile was easy ascent. Last 1.5 miles was steep incline, but had some flat areas in between which allowed for some rest. Take left at Sosman trail for easier route. Going right had some slick/icy inclines which made it difficult to get up without some finagling. I opted for micro-spikes, but many folks had snow shoes on. Weather was beautiful - no wind, no clouds, and lots of sun. Saw about 20 other folks on the trail as the day progressed. Took me 4hrs and 15 minutes round trip to summit and get back to the parking lot. Nice easy day hike. |
