Lost and Found
Lost and Found: I found a solo hiker coming down the FWT just below the summit, who thought he was on the Lend-A-Hand Trail headed to Zealand Hut. I brought him up to the summit and showed him the way. He was thrown off by the fact that the FWT gets so much traffic!

Comments
Comments: A frigid day for my annual visit to the magnificent birch glades along the FWT. -3 when I left the car and didn't really warm up much until the descent. All trails packed solid and fairly smooth. I wore spikes up to the "spruce tunnel" on FWT, then switched to snowshoes as the trail was softer from there to the summit. I left them on all the way back to the car, as I didn't want to stop in the cold and switch out. I'm not an overly speedy hiker, but this was one of my faster hikes due to the excellent conditions. Not much wind overall, so that helped with the temps. It actually felt warm on the summit with the abundant sunshine. I saw a few other hikers and a couple of young guys skinning their way up. The glades were beautiful as always!
