Comments
Comments: This report is the same as FranM's as we hiked together to Washington. From Washington I headed over to bag Jefferson. Above tree line the snow was wind blown hard pack with occasional drifts. Upper Jewel could use more/larger Cairns. Trail was had to follow in places where the wind had blown old tracks clean. Once in the trees with the high snow the spruce make a bit of a tunnel and required ducking a lot. Nice day out with Bruce and Fran. Forecast was of -6 and 32mph wind. We likely saw that on Monroe but after that the wind was more like 15-20mph the rest of the hike. Comfortable with the right layering and facemasks/goggles.
