Comments
Comments: Alton and I were headed to the Carters and decided to do the road walk first. We parked at 19 Mile and headed up Rte 16 to Camp Dodge. Snowshoes were immediate and not even halfway into the bushwhack the set we were following turned back. But hope springs eternal and we kept thinking it might get better. It did, it got deeper and deeper and then up near the ridge the trees were all laying across the trail, heavy with their snow burden. Heading across Carter-Moriah was intervals of powder, then crust, then drifts over and over. It was tiring work but we managed to get to zeta pass and call it a day. From there to the car was broken out. The Carters are broken out, folks, green flag racing!
