First on the trail guarantees you do the initial trail breaking for the day. 4-5 inches new snow down low graduating to 8-10 above with some knee deep drifts on the ridge near the summit. Groups that followed helped packed down the trail nicely but will mostly fill in again after the Sat. night snow. Always a good day when out in the Whites...was lucky to get a good view of a Pine Marten that crossed the trail and scrambled up a tree so we could get a good look at this beautiful animal. :) |
