Even though 'Pepper and Me' did a fantastic job yesterday busting through the drifts, we had 5" down low to 8"-10" of new fluffy powder to push through. Up and down the same trail so with 4 pair of snowshoes I think we left it in wonderful shape for those to come after. Ran into a local mountain top snow storm just above treeline but were able to proceed between cairns without danger. Winds were relatively light by the Moose's winter standards. Ran into Hiker Ed near the summit. Thanks Sandy and Sue for an enjoyable day and helping make the work easier. |
