The actual weather turned out to be much better than the NOAA forecast. Blue skies and light winds made for a great day to be above tree line for a hike. Valley Way was packed out with a firm base all the way to the campsite. Trail was a little softer from there to the hut but still in great shape. Above tree line the windblown snow made for very hard trails with only a few softer snow drifts around. I wore snowshoes to the hut and switched to Hill sounds which were a better choice picking through the rocks up Madison and Adams. |
