I started out skiing the road pulling a sled, which I left with my skies at the summer parking. Road was its usual snowmobile highway. To start, signal had a depression from the previous track with about 6in snow to break through. This increased to include high drifts. Trail was easy to find as the corridor was obvious in the drifted places. Faint views into Carrigain notch, including Anderson, Lowell, and Vose. On the way down I meet two barebooters (!). They were a ways down and stood to have trouble with the drifted areas, even with my tracks. Behind them were three on snowshoes. |
