Picked the perfect day to hit the remaining section of the Carriage Road. Skinned up all the way to the summit in a t-shirt, about an inch of new snow over a deep base (up to Snapper), then more packed out to Glencliff. Carriage Road to the summit was up and down over broken drifts, then ice as the trail breaks treeline. Bright sun and barely any wind up top, great views all around, even as far as the Adirondacks. Three others at the summit while I was there, and saw five others as well. The run down was great, as there was still a lot of soft deep powder on the sides. The section between Snapper and Hurricane skied best. Awesome day on the Moose! |
