Snowshoes car to car. Trail is in good shape and now packed. We went up Gorge Brook Trail. Down low we had 2-4" new snow and up higher 4-6". Its all light and fluffy. Significant drifting and ice above tree line. Trail hard to follow in places as some cairns are covered. It was snowing and we had a lot of wind, but still made our way up and down with relative confidence. I don't think we would have found the Carriage Road trail if we hadn't run into someone at the summit. Lots more packing and traffic on Carriage Road.(Skiers) Red Snapper trail in good condition. All in all it was a great cozy day as long as were below the tree line. |
