Comments
Comments: Big thanks to Old man with saw and Hikes with Hannah for their reports. Decided on Moosilauki so I wouldn't have to get up at 3am. Followed OMWS's tracks to the summit area but then the wind had erased most of the evidence that he had been there. Down low about an inch of new snow in the track increasing to 3 or 4 higher up with deeper drifts near the summit. Above tree line most of the newer snow had blown away leaving a hard crusty surface with many of the "path rocks" visible. With the wind and poor visibility on top it would have been easy to get disorientated. It was easier to find the way up than back down. Below tree level almost no wind and an awesome day with mild temps. I wore snowshoes truck to truck and believe anything else would be tough going. Nice snow shoe track right now, get out there and enjoy it! Thanks again to Old Man with saw for the track and the report.
