Lots of folks out on these trails today. Only saw one couple in snow shoes the rest were split between spikes and crampons. Trails are firm with a couple of inches of loose power on top in many locations. Early in the day folks reported great views and no wind on the ridge. On Eisenhower, us late comers were treated to some wind and snow. By the time we were halfway back to Pierce it had cleared and the wind was gone. Stayed that way until on Jackson at 5pm. The winds picked up some but it was never too bad. Awesome head lamp down from Jackson. I'm usually annoyed by the Jackson Brook trail but today the rocks and roots and water were all covered with a well packed smooth ramp. Great day out with great folks. |
