I lost one snow basket on the Fishin' Jimmy Trail. |

Trail was packed nicely to Lonesome Lake and a well defined path existed crossing the lake. The Fishin' Jimmy Trail had snow on it on top of a packed down bed. The Kinsman Ridge Trail had drifting present and even more unpacked snow on the trail. In-between the summits, a few inches of fresh snow made it look like few hikers continue on to South Kinsman.
Snow fell all morning and by the time we got back to North Kinsman all of our tracks were covered over. There still was not enough snow for snowshoes, but all the trails could benefit from more snowshoeing. We wore microspikes from car to car. The wind had drifted snow over the lake and completely covered any evidence of the path we took across it in the morning.
No views on either summit. The Fishin' Jimmy Trail is an exhausting gauntlet of pointless up and downs during the descent. |
