| Comments: |
Holt trail to Grand Junction is consistent snow base. Skinning or hiking with microspikes is good. Holt trail beyond Grand junction is not recommended without crampons minimum, and Ice axe is desired when you break the tree line. Skinning isn't of much use past grand junction as you follow close to a stream and the trail is quite rocky. The sign that warns of Holt's steepness is not joking, this trail is serious business, especially in winter.
If your looking for some excitement it is a great trip. Splitboarded up, snowboarded down alexandria all the way to car, except for bailey brook crossing and 2 small uphill sections. |
