Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Lost one of my snow shoes (Tubbs Flex ALP XL) somewhere between North Kinsman and the spur trail to Bald Knob - the strap let go. I didn't realize it until done and didn't have time to go looking tonight but will be heading up first thing in the morning - if you get out before me and see it just leave it on the side of the trail and I will be up to fetch it.

Comments
Comments: Did this one with Monica and the Random Grouo of Hikers. We had planned to do a Presidential Traverse today but the forecast of low temperatures and high winds forced us to change plans so we did Moosilauke in the morning and the Kinsmans in the afternoon.

While we wore snowshoes up to both of the summits the trail was packed and could have been done with light traction. There were a couple of places where there were ice floes that were easily handled with snowshoes. The Kinsman Ridge Trail just south of Norht Kinsman was steep and tricky with ice under the snow. Barebooted on the way down. The snow down low was barely enough to cover the ground but as we began to climb up past the flat part near the barn the snow became deeper but well packed.
