Comments
Comments: Did this one with Monica and the Random Grouo of Hikers. We had planned to do a Presidential Traverse today but the forecast of low temperatures and high winds forced us to change plans so we did Moosilauke in the morning and the Kinsmans in the afternoon.

While we wore snowshoes up to the summit the trail was packed and could have been done with light traction. There were several tracks leaving to the left of the first field which brings you to the cabin, not the trail. In the first field stay right then left in the second field.

There were a couple of ice floes that were easily handled wearing snow shoes or light traction. The snow down low wasn't that deep while the snow up high was well packed with some drifting just before the trail go South Moosilauke and then along the Moosilauke Carroage Road before treeline. Above treeline the snow is hard and windswept.
