| Comments: |
The trail was in great shape and firm, we used light traction up to about a quarter mile beyond the junction with Carrigain Notch Tr. Snowshoes from there until our return to this point. Lots of drifting (12"-18") at the point of the switchbacks after the first viewpoint and being first out we broke trail through this for a bit. then just unpacked powder to Signal Ridge. Clear sailing from here to the tower. Encountered barebooters on descent in the drift area and spent time discussing the merits of wearing snoeshoes instead of carrying them. It's anyone's guess what the shape of the trail is now. Hopefully more snow tomorrow will fill in any damage. |
