Comments
Comments: Spectacular heavy blue ice just above the last crossing on Ammo Tr. We carried spikes & crampons but stayed in shoes all day. The shoes provided excellent purchase on the snow fields above the hut. Several areas of drifting snow >30". Many exposed rocks above the junction with West Side Tr until we descended the cone heading to the Cog rail. Great day out with John G.
