Fantastic views on all 3 peaks make the long haul worth every footstep. I left LW at 06:50 and was back at car at 16:40, so did all 3 peaks (23 miles by my figuring) in less than 10 hours. That is with a 10 minute break for lunch and numerous stops just looking at the views from the top. Black flies did make it tough to stay in one spot very long though. No problems on trails, very straightforward hike, just lonnnnnggggg...
I rewarded myself back at LW with a cold beer and soothed my sore, blistered feet in the cool water of the mighty Pemi. Ahhhhh, Life is Good! Only Owl's Head left on my list now. |
