Happy Birthday to this old Granny! For my celebration, my dear friend Alton took the day off and joined me for my maiden ascent of the North Tripyramid Slide. Due to snow the night before we were blessed with good traction in our Tubbs Flex Alps. Up and away we went. Celebration and cheering at the top, across the tri's and down to the South Slide. This got a little hairy but using what the good lord gave us we slid on hineys down a bunch of the steeper stuff. This was a late start so we didn't have to freeze completely. Warmer than expected, the snow was sticky on the south slide but this worked to our advantage to slow the descent. It looked like diamonds had been thrown in the snow coming down, rainbows and endless views. What a birthday present! Sunny blue skies all day, gorgeous snow, great dogs, I am a lucky girl. Stella is getting her groove back. |
