used the relo on the way in and broke out the trail there (no one had been through in a while), used the old route on the way out, no significant issues either way, but drier feet on the way out, hint, hint. |

Tim took out one that was chest level (thank you!) a few stepovers along the way but no serious issues |

Kali and Gryffin had a wonderful time. They enjoyed each others company and only had minimal issues with snow balls as the day went. |

Great group hike out to Carrigain. Always a good one to check off with friends. We used the herd path to the road from the parking lot at the start. If you use this take the first right and get off of it, it meandered until finally the group figured out a nice slope to head up to get to the road. Great warm up however on this -4 degree start morning. Saw one couple in snow shoes and one couple carrying their snow shoes. In my opinion snow shoes were the way to go. Trail is in good condition. Real cold at the top, stopped for cocoa and pictures, then back down to eat below the trees and head back out. Thank you Dan, Denise, Tim and Gryffin, Mark and Kali for a wonderfully cold hike of Carrigain! Happiest of Trails to all! |
