About 3" of fresh powder today with some drifting, which filled in the previous track. Hiker Ed, Mark G., an I broke a nice trail to treeline.
In fact, it was a work of art, a classic snowshoe track over a good base, until the 5 bare-booters after us came up and destroyed it.
Imagine a scenario with two parallel trails going to the same summit. One trail would be strictly for snowshoes and the other for bare boots. I wonder how long it would take for the bare-booters to start using snowshoes.
This is the point, that snowshoers make the trail easier for the bare-booters and the bare-booters make it harder for the snowshoers. I rest my case.
Oh, I almost forgot, it was nice meeting up an talking with Pam B. again. |
