Nice but cold day for summitting these two peaks. Two-thirds you need no traction; 1/3 either microspikes or snowshoes are helpful; ski poles also. At least 12 people on trail today so well-packed down. The ascents of each peak are steep. Ran into an AT through-hiker (past); 2 guys doing a season 48; and Victoria doing the grid. I'm doing my 1st W48. So lots of company out there. Fast trip, 5 1/4 hours. |
