Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Little River is bridge. Smaller tributaries have open water but are easy to cross.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: With many trails having had lots of blowdowns we were pleasantly surprised to find all these trail in excellent condition.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Unbroken trails (especially the current ones with loose and dense powder plus crusted snow) are hard work for humans and dogs. Most sections are still unconsolidated and will make for strenuous hiking for the canines. No real difficulties anywhere and Little River (3rd crossing) being bridge is a big plus.

Comments
Comments: No recent travel on these trails. Georg and I broke trail all the way. Only 1-2" at lower elevation but increasing to over 12" in drifted areas along the ridge.

We barebooted to a little over a mile up the Gale River tr. and then used snowshoes the rest of the way.

North Twin tr to the first crossing + the herd path between 1st and 2nd crossing has seen significant moose traffic.

One other hiker on the trails today. He was doing a loop over Garfield and Galehead - starting and finishing at Beaver Brook
