Comments
Comments: Chilly all day but with the lack of wind very comfortable. Trail was bare booted during the warm rainy period up to the lookout so the trail is choppy. No one had been beyond the view point since the last storm. I decided to bare boot up without much issue then wore snow shoes down to smooth things up and break up the crusty surface. Should be decent to the ridge now. The KRT had been pretty beat up as far as the North peak but at least I wasn't breaking trail. I caught with Nurse Sue, who had come up the Fishing Jimmy, and we snow shoed over to the South peak as no one had been there since last storm. That is now in great shape for snow shoes but the powder isn't hard packed at this time. Great day out.
