Be careful if you do any buttsliding! Much of the parts that you can glissade down are sheer ice, and it's not easy to stop.

The trail was a mix of ice, packed powder, and fresh unpacked powder (about 1/2 a foot tops). My buddy Josh wore spikes; I wore snowshoes. Either one would work fine. Down low, it was a couple inches of fresh powder on top of slick ice; in the middle, it was more packed snow; up high, it was snowing so much that any footprints, even from my snowshoes, were covered in minutes. Cold as heck, too- windchills were way below zero!
Winter 4K #4 for me, and all-season 4K #3 & winter #2 for my partner-in-crime, Josh. |
