Peaks Mt. Pierce, NH
Trails
Trails: Crawford Path, Webster Cliff Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Thursday, January 1, 2015
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of parking at the Highland Center. I was there early so the lot was fuller at the end of the day and over flow on 302 was evident.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Ice - Black, Wet Trail, Ice - Blue, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Ice - Breakable Crust, Standing/Running Water on Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All water crossings are easily hopped. Some are open and hopefully with cold temps will freeze up again. Snow is coming in on Saturday night which may help too.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lot's of branches on the trail. Cleaned up a bunch. Trail is in great shape and able to use Microspikes only. New snowshoes got a ride today.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Isis had a great day. Only showed that she was cold at the summit and enjoyed meeting Lilly who was so excited to hike she looked like she might just pee everywhere! Great to meet Kevin who was master to Brutus. I think he was on the trail in spirit today.
Bugs
Bugs: Vacationing in Florida.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing of note.

Comments
Comments: COLD COLD COLD day today. Crawford Path is a solid highway right now due to traffic and well packed. Some water on the trail but hopefully that will freeze up over the next few days. Lots of flow ice too. Summit was clear but temps made a continued journey to Ike less than appealing. Saturday is coming!
