Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: the bushwhack around the 1st xing of Cedar Brook was broken out. The second was only broken out partway (not worth following). However, water levels were low enough that the second an subsequent xings were rock hops up to ankle depth--not a problem with waterproof winter boots. There were also frequent slush and mud blowouts in the packed snow along Cedar Brook Trail. Stream crossings were open and not frozen.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Parts of Cedar Brook Trail appear flooded.

Comments
Comments: Up the Hancocks via the usual route from the Kanc, clockwise with party of 9, RGoH. Entire route was firmly packed, all we needed was traction. The steeps on the loop had some slippery spots but very little ice so far. See water crossing notes (above). Snow was soft due to warm temps but not soft enough to cause postholing (yet). We carried snowshoes just in case. Snow depth was 12"-18"
