Comments
Comments: Very variable surface conditions. Lots of bare turf at the base warranted bareboots, which were the choice until past the upper cuttoff trail junction. From there I went with Micros to Kate Sleeper. The ledges are not bad in light traction with care. Some blue ice on the ledges. Kate Sleeper showed little sign of tracks from the recent ascent posted here. There was however a firm crust to snowshoe on with ease. I wore snowshoes the entire KST and they stayed on all the way down to the cuttoff trail. Good conditions to get this peak.
