| Comments: |
We used micros to hut and crampons on Monroe Loop. Low ceilings and very gusty winds kept us off Washington today. Snowshoes took a ride. Trail was solid walking with NO postholing on trail. There is up to 4' of snow off the trail, however, so stay on it,, We saw one party with crampons but little extra clothing or gear and another party with no traction whatsoever. Above tree line conditions today and the Ammonusuc steeps required both, |
