All fairly easy to cross on snow covered rocks or ice covered rocks. Some thin breakable ice over running water. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A couple of walk under blowdowns. The trail between South and North peaks had many snow laden branches and trees leaning in to the trail which made it difficult to hike without being dumped on by snow.

A really nice day out with temps from 10 to 30, clear blue sky and no wind. Nice but limited views from both peaks. The trails were in good shape with a packed base and an inch of new snow at lower elevations. Higher elevations the trail was also packed but had 4 to 8 inches of new snow. I used stabilicers down low and snowshoes up high to pack the snow.
I saw about 10 hikers out on this loop hike today. I was first on the trail today and saw coyote tracks, snowshoe hare tracks and grouse tracks. Kind of neat to see who else walks on the trails. |
