| Comments: |
Tons of powder - snowshoes were a must. Gale River Loop Rd (East side) had been plowed somewhat recently up for ~0.5 to 0.75 miles, so we barebooted that, but wore shoes the rest of the day. Broke trail from that point all the way up Gale River and across Garfield Ridge to the junction with Garfield Trail. Garfield Trail and the 0.2 miles from that junction to the summit are fairly well packed, but snowshoes would still be a good idea. Didn't see anyone else out, but passed a few people heading up the Garfield Trail as we were pulling into the parking lot. |
