Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Lost my glasses (I was stupid enough to simply loop them into the neck of my shirt)before Gem Pool... another hiker found them though and returned them to me!!!

Comments
Comments: First to park this morning, but struggled to find the trailhead... fortunately another hiker arrived while I was looking around for it and directed me to it (above the main Cog parking lot; have to walk past the houses/buildings on eastern end of the lot).

A skier had used the trail to at least the Gem Pool area after the large storm early this week, but the more recent snow was untracked. I broke trail until beyond the Gem Pool but before the Falls, then the aforementioned hiker took the lead. As the trail opened up around treeline the deep snow (couldn't follow official trail) and winds (blowing back over our tracks) forced us to hike together. We got to probably within a few hundred feet of the Lake of the Clouds hut, but turned back to ensure we made it back down safely. He was quite familiar with the trail so I trusted his judgment.

At least a dozen people were on the trail today (most wearing snowshoes); it's reasonably well-packed now, but snowshoes are certainly still preferable and required once you get to Ammonoosuc Falls.
