Comments
Comments: Most of the trail had 3 or 4 inches of new snow, which was a little on the wet side, on top of a somewhat unstable base, which got deeper near the summit. I chose to leave the snowshoes in my trunk and hiked with microspikes. I broke trail with frequent postholing, and a few thigh deep drifts (probably because I had strayed off the trail).

I was in a cloud for much of the day with a little bit of snow falling. Finding the trail was challenging at times on the saddle and ledges near the top. I had the trail to myself all day, only seeing two skiers at the top. Temperatures were in the mid-20s to low 30s. A beautiful and invigorating day.
