Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a rabbit's foot near the summit in the trail. Actually most of one of the rabbit's front legs. I took it as a positive sign. I left it trailside on a stump where, most likely, it will never be seen again.

Comments
Comments: Liitle lifts the spirits of a solo Winter hiker so much as pulling in the parking lot and seeing a nicely packed trail. Well it seemed like Winter - 5 below, a foot or more of snow. My gratitude goes out to whoever did the hard work. Rocks buried, roots buried, no bugs, bare boots. Seeps still seeps.

Engine Hill: it seemed like whoever set this track was trying to follow the flags set out earlier this Fall by the Engine Hill Improvement Society. Unfortunately the flags are very hard to find in the snow covered trees thus about 1/3 of the way across the track follows an acceptable line of it's own which includes some brush. (It's a bushwhack!) Most likely the person who sets the track after the coming snow will not be able to find this one in the brush and make another.

At the tent site the track started across the Georg Cutoff. Unfortunately for them they lost confidence less that 50 feet from the Davis Path and doubled back to the trail. Being far too stiff and lazy to put on 'shoes for 50 feet I postholed (15" of snow) the rest of the cutoff. This, too, will disappear in the coming storm.
