Thanks to Rachel and other hikers there was a nice snowshoe path today. Solid snow surface up to the ledges. Higher up there was stickier snow due to warming temperatures and snow melt off trees. Short side path to summit is signed. The Carter-Moriah Trail heading south from the summit has been broken out.
Saw a snowshoe Hare bounding down the path. Jumped off trail to get around me then continued down the trail. There was a nice display of crepuscular rays over the Presidential Range today. Briefly saw the Great Gulf and surrounding peaks from the summit but it was quickly obscured by clouds. |
