Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Access road to trailhead passable with four wheel drive and ground clearance. Approximately 6 inches of snow on road, but packed down from tire tracks. Road was kind of rutty, thus requiring the ground clearance. Plenty of parking opportunities on route 2.

Comments
Comments: Incredibly beautiful day. Cold, but not windy. Would have normally chosen another hike on a perfect Presi day, but wanted to test my knee injury with something easy. The overlook just past the summit was tremendous, though! There were between 6 and 10 inches of powder snow, packed down nicely, with some bony spots. Snowshoes would have been overkill. Microspikes were the ticket. Had fun with three gray jays on Starr King. One landed on Brent's head. Great to hike with Brent again!
