| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Jackson branch had 1 large walk around blowdown and remnants of hiker cut spruce-fir in trail. Webster branch had a couple of spruce-fire easily avoided. Webster Cliff had lots of blowdown of all types, much of it could be walked under, over or on, but including several multiples that forced walk arounds; in one place a wide one in conjunction with a mud pool at the base of ledge. Another hiker said from Jackson to Mitzpah Hut there were plenty more blowdowns across the trail. I did a little work until I realized Webster Cliff needs a real trail crew to be ready for the summer hikers. Just tiny bits of snow on trails. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
The mighty tough little dog took a tumble after jumping up onto an angled split ledge high on Jackson, and then he tried to leap onto the other side of the split and slid off it too, so he let me give him a lift. I think I’ve spotted him on prior trips because it obviously could be tricky for small to medium dogs in particular, but he was too far in front of me this time. It’s nice he’s in pdf (portable dog format). Other than that it is a pretty easy dog trail. Plenty of water on Jackson branch; less so on Webster branch and none on Webster Cliff except as mud. |

| Bugs: |
Black flies were bothersome on the summits because I stopped to eat or talk except in the strongest wind gusts. When moving they weren't a factor. |

| Comments: |
Great day to be on the trails for an otherwise unplanned and time restricted hike. Excellent views. Mostly sunny with comfy temps and humidity. Mostly bug free. Mostly hiker free too seeing nobody until Webster and then only 3 others. Pepper had fun of course. |
