| Comments: |
dusting of snow right from north twin trail head increased to 4-6 inches before summit. loose fluffy powder hid lots of blue ice which was a little tricky at times. packed out in the afternoon it was pretty good footing with spikes. consistant flow ice under powder on south twin descent and lack of crampons had us back track instead which was delightful as skies cleared and we had great views from the twins later on. microspikes overmatched on south twin heading to the hut, really a crampon worthy section and even though we knew better we did not have them so erred on the side of caution .quite cold and windy on the summits..a real taste of winter and was pleased with gear . thanks valerie for a brisk day out |
